Beryl started her working life as a nurse.  Then became a trade union organizer and Union Assistant Secretary.  During her involvement with the Union and Labour party, she served on a number of committees involved with women’s movements. She was an active member in the 1970s of the Anti-Nuclear Party and was back marching the streets protesting the war in Iraq. She also worked as an advisor to a minister in the State Government.

Since retirement, Bery and George have been based 4/5 months in Assissi, Umbria.  They rent an apartment from Italian friends and live the Italian life making short trips to France, Malta, and the UK.
