Rod once told me that my children, Nathan and Rachel, were "nasty pieces of work". This was when they were living with him and their mother, Jackie, and while they were just children. Around the same time, he said to me that he thought I would not have been so eager to divorce Jackie if I had known her mother was going to leave her so much money. In my opinion, these remarks speak volumes about Rod's character,

Neither child was happy living with Jackie and Rod. Both children eventually opted to come back and live with me. Nathan came back first whereupon Jackie cut off all contact with him. Rachel came back a few months later whereupon Jackie cut off all contact with Rachel.

Rod's antagonism to the children was surely a factor in the way that Jackie negected them while they were living with her and in her cutting off contact with them after they came back to live with me.

I tried repeatedly over the years to get Jackie to resume cintact with her children, but she has always refused. She makes contact conditional upon the children asking for it, which to date they have not been willing to do.
