At her home near Salvisa, Kentucky our dear mother, Augusta Ann JonesMcMurry fell asleep in Jesus on July 25, 1901. She died with cancer, that dreadful disease, and suffered untold misery, but bore her affliction with great patience and laid down the cross to take up the crownon resurrection morn.
She was a loving wife, a kind affectionate mother, and a good Christian woman. She was born on July 31, 1849 and was fifty one years, eleven months and twenty-five days old when she died.
She obeyed the gospel when quite young and lived true to her profession till the Lord saw cause to take her home.
She was married to James McMurry on December 25, 1866 and to this union there were born eight children of whom seven survive her. Six of this number are members of the Church of Christ. I would say to my brothers and sisters to live faithful unto the end and we will meet mother on the shores of eternal bliss, where neither sickness, sorrow, nordeath invades; where partings are unknown and where we can all bask in the sunshine of God?s great love throughout the ceaseless ages of eternity.
Her funeral was preached by Brother S.H. Jones and we laid her to rest in the family burying ground.
